tribe was started in 2001 by husband and wife team Derek Owen and Rebecca Tyndall. Previously, Derek worked at David Black’s Holland Park rug gallery for over 15 years, where he developed an interest and passion for contemporary rugs. Rebecca’s experience and knowledge as a successful textile designer has been instrumental in helping define the look and range of rugs offered. Chris Couch joined in 2004. Chris’s background in the London design industry has helped build on Derek and Rebecca’s success.		At tribe we pool our collective experience to select the finest pieces that we can find. We work with many suppliers worldwide to ensure we get the best wool, colour and contemporary designs available. All the rugs we offer are hand woven, many using naturally dyed wool. We source from all the main weaving areas, including Turkey, Iran and Nepal. Each piece is individually chosen on the strength of design and use of colour.		commissions • Many of our rugs can be ordered in a variety of sizes and a range of colours.
